UMP mayor of the city since 1995, the incumbent was ahead in the latest poll (TNS-Sofres, Wednesday) by two points in voting intentions, 51% vs. 49%, its competitor Socialist, Jean-Noël Guérini.
Do not be his first political show, Jean-Claude Gaudin has chosen to claim advantage of Marseille as a President of the Republic to the popularity mast, and to focus on Guérini salvos.
"It's not the third round of the presidential elections, the elections are to elect the mayor," he recalled before 5,000 people. "The Marseillais should not be mistaken for the election," he added.
