The deputy mayor of Bègles (Gironde) Noël Mamère (Greens), appealed to "all political forces to suspend for a day of the campaign for the municipal devote to Ingrid Betancourt."
Speaking on behalf of all the Greens in the Gironde, Mr. Mamère said he "had to make a strong gesture to save the lives of Ingrid Betancourt."
