Algeria has urged Monday the international community to protect the Palestinian people, considering that the military operations of the Israeli army is likely to fill the current negotiating process between the two sides. "Algeria calls on the international community to act to put an end to the Israeli barbarism and to protect the Palestinian people against such criminal acts that impede the realization of progress in negotiations for comprehensive and lasting peace in the region", said a press release the official spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "Faced with these heinous crimes," added the press release, Algeria reiterates its firm condemnation and outrage at the Israeli practices against a people battered, stripped of its land and its symbols and holy places.
