In the fifth largest city in France, is a battle that promises to be right between Christian Estrosi, invested by the UMP, and the present Mayor Jacques Peyrat determined to retain his seat.

Estrosi, Secretary of State for Overseas is the favorite in polls widely distance rivals, the outgoing édile, ex-FN and the Socialist German Patrick. The priorities of the candidates differ little: revitalize the city's image, make housing more accessible, improve local services and the quality of the environment. The city is deeply rooted right: there has been no left-wing mayor since 1947.
